Last Adventure in the City Before Baby

Well, we are getting close to having this little guy. We figured we should do something before it gets really had. On Martin Luther King Day, we decided we were going to the city. We had no plan, we were just going to take it easy and have a fun day.

We left around noon and took the train in. We figured we would go to Times Square right away and stop at the TKTS booth to get some tickets to a show that night. We took our time walking to Times Square and walked around Bryant Park and went back to the spot where we got engaged.

We ended up in Times Square about 2 and the TKTS booth opened at 3. Since it's a first come first serve thing, we figured we would get in line so we get a better choice of the good shows and there was already a line there. We were in line about 2 minutes before a worker came up to us and asked me if I was pregnant. Well, I was 38 weeks at this point so there was no hiding that I was indeed pregnant. He then told us that we would have to wait in the line. We could come back at 3 and he would put us in the front of the line becuase pregnant woman dont have to stand and wait. We said "Wonderful" and hurried on our way before he changed his mind.

While we were walking away. A woman came up to us and asked us if we wanted to be in the audience of The Late Show with David Letterman. We said of course we do. She then asked us a quiz question, thank goodness Josh actually watched Dave every once and a while. (We are actually Team CoCo so that's who wemainly watch.) Josh got the question right and all we had to do was go pick up the tickets in a hour.

We decided it would be nice to get some hot cocoa while we walked around for a little while. At about 5 of 3, we were back at TKTS. IT worked. The man put us right in the front! We had full pick of the shows for that day! We picked Mama Mia and had great seats!
After we got our tickets, we had to head over to The Late Show. We waited in a small line to get in and once we did get our tickets, that woman asked me if I was pregnant. Again, I can't hide it, but I figured it really benefited us before so I said yes. She then told us we would get preferred seating. We would sit before everyone else! This day was just getting better and better.

We left and had an early dinner at Cosi. I was craving Cosi's cobb salad ever since they closed the one in Darien. It hit the spot. After we finished, we went for our preferred seating at the Late Show. The show was funny, Nathan Lane was a guest and a new comedian. They were both great! Letterman's band sounds great. They play all through the commercials and it was so much fun listening and dancing along to it.

We got out of the Letterman show 1 hour before Mamma Mia started. Thank goodness it was only 2 blocks away because I, of course, had to go to the bathroom. I've seen Mamma Mia before, but it was so fun to see it again. Josh really enjoyed it too.

After Mamma Mia, we decided to call it a night. My feet were very swollen and we really had an action packed day. It was great!

If you are pregnant and showing and want a fun day in the city, there are so many perks!!!
